Research supports the importance of reassurance communication in maintaining the overall mental and physical health of aging adults. Enter OLiVeR and a simple, tested approach to understanding how to effectively communicate with older adults in volunteer situations and in health, human service or caregiving settings. The OLiVeR technique (Observe, Listen, Validate and Respond or Report) is at the core of each of the learning packages in the Maximizing Brief Encounters seminar series.
